We Have A Little T-Ball Star!

A star in action!

They won!

Her daddy was so proud of her!!!

Tonight was Ella's first ever t-ball game. She plays 2nd base for First Methodist. She was FABULOUS! She fielded a ball and tagged a runner for an out!!! She hit twice, both times right to the pitcher. (We'll have to work on that.) The first hit, she got out at first base. The second time they overthrew the ball so she made it to 2nd base, then scored on the next hit. WOOHOO! When she got to home plate, she stood on it like she was waiting for her standing ovation. So stinking precious! Nanny and Pootie were there to watch her, but Evan was her biggest cheerleader. On the drive home, they had the sweetest little conversation. Evan was so proud of Ella and Ella was so proud of herself.
I think I am going to enjoy her playing so much more than I thought I would. -----h.

Here we go...The big kitchen remodel!!!

Well, due to a major water leak in our kitchen that caused serious problems, we have decided to go for it and do a huge remodel. We are going to completely gut the kitchen and start over. We are going to remove half of a wall to open it up to the living room, get new cabinets, new appliances, counter tops, tile floor, lights, everything. I am going to be without a kitchen for 4 weeks (probably longer). I am going to set up a little make-shift kitchen in the dining room, but we will have no stove or oven for quite a while. I guess there are many nights of takeout in our future, which suits me fine (and the girls will love it). Here are the before pictures of the kitchen. I am going to try to blog the whole process. The mess will drive me crazy, I'm sure, but in the end it should all be worth it. Right? ---h.

Ella's Allergy Testing

This is old news by now, but I just had to put this on here. Ella had allergy testing 2 weeks ago and she did so good. No tears! She is severely allergic to Bermuda grass, which happens to be the very grass we have (along with everybody else in Arkansas). She was also allergic to oak, maple, house dust and mold (and a few other things). She reacted mildly to peanuts and soy. Needless to say, she is going to start taking allergy shots. She'll go twice a week for two shots at a time for the first 3 months, then she'll go once a week, and eventually she will be able to go once every 2 weeks. She will do this for about 5 years. Poor baby! ---------h.
(how about that hairy back)

Evan's First Play

Thursday night was the big 2nd grade production "NUTS". Evan played the role of a macadamia nut. She had a few lines and she did great. My camera was taking very dark pictures so these aren't great, but it's all we have. Way to go, Evan. You're a STAR!!!!!

Ella's Fishing Trip

On Monday afternoon while Evan was at dance, Brad decided to take Ella on her first fishing trip of the season. She loves fishing and Evan loathes it, so this was the perfect time. It was a success. She caught 4 fish and was so proud.........h.

Blogging?

Blogging? Huh? Why not? I am so NOT computer savvy and can't email pictures to save my life, so I am creating this blog as a way of keeping family up to date on all of Evan and Ella's exciting adventures. I also think this will be a great way to archive our lives, and as the girls get older they will be able to read back about events, and even daily conversations, silly things that I would never remember to tell them about. We'll see how it goes. Maybe I won't tell anyone about this until I'm certain I have it figured out. I've had a computer for many years and still haven't mastered emailing, so this may take me a while. Anyway, I'll give it a try. -H.
